Welcome, HONOR A1!
HONOR A1 is a compact humanoid robot developed by HONOR Device Co., Ltd., the Chinese smartphone company based in Shenzhen. Standing 136.9 cm tall and weighing 40 kg, it combines a relatively small frame with a focus on physical mobility. Its demonstrated capabilities include obstacle avoidance, running 100 m and walking stairs. A listed maximum speed of 10 km/h gives a further measure of its locomotion performance. Its overall Humanoid.Guide Skill Score is 3 out of 10, placing it in the developing category rather than among mature general purpose humanoids. Navigation receives a rating of 3 out of 5, while manipulation is rated 0 out of 5, making movement the clear emphasis of its current capability profile. The robot uses HONOR integrated joint modules with liquid cooling adapted from the company’s smartphone technology. Its grey exterior and five fingers on each hand give it a recognizably humanoid form, but the presence of hands does not establish practical manipulation capability.
Obstacle avoidance, running 100 m and walking stairs address three distinct aspects of locomotion: navigating around obstructions, sustaining a running gait over a defined distance and moving between different elevations. Together, these capabilities make A1 relevant to demonstrations centered on humanoid mobility. Retail venues, public spaces, stages and events are its stated target settings, where physical movement can be a central part of a presentation. Its navigation rating reflects a developing mobility platform, not unrestricted autonomy across every environment. Likewise, the running capability should be understood as a specific achievement rather than evidence of endurance over arbitrary distances. With manipulation rated at 0 out of 5, A1’s current technical story centers on locomotion rather than object handling.
A1 is listed as a prototype, with a displayed price of USD 25,000 and an inquiry option for prospective customers. That status distinguishes it from an established commercial robot with broad deployment experience. HONOR introduced its robotics line in 2026 and first presented a humanoid at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that March. A1 later attracted attention at a robot half marathon in Beijing, receiving the Best Gait Award for its humanlike running style. Its development also connects HONOR with Lens Technology, which co developed lightweight metal structural parts for the company’s robots. More broadly, A1 illustrates a smartphone manufacturer extending its engineering expertise into humanoid hardware, including integrated joints, cooling and structural components.
