Welcome, D01!
D01 is a 162 cm humanoid from Sharpa Robotics, designed for dexterous work in service, manufacturing, research, hospitality, and retail settings. Weighing 40 kg, it combines a 66 degree of freedom body with two five finger Wave hands that account for 44 degrees of freedom. Its arms provide seven degrees of freedom, while whole body electronic skin detects light contact with 0.2 N resolution, supporting safer physical interaction around people. D01 uses electric servo actuators, NVIDIA Jetson Thor computing, Linux based software compatible with ROS 2, Gigabit Ethernet, and WiFi. CraftNet, its vision tactile language action model, links perception and touch with task execution. Control can run at up to 1000 Hz, helping support responsive contact rich manipulation. The robot has a stated runtime of four hours per charge and a maximum speed of 6 km per hour. Its Humanoid.Guide score of 5 out of 10 identifies a developing platform, with manipulation rated 4 out of 5 and navigation rated 1 out of 5.
D01 is positioned for tasks that demand careful handling of varied household and commercial objects. Its strongest stated skill area is manipulation, and the tactile hands, arms, and whole body sensing are aligned with sorting goods where object orientation and secure placement matter. It is also presented for assembling products, a use case requiring repeated positioning, part handling, and controlled contact. In domestic or service environments, D01 can fill and empty a dishwasher, handling items through a structured sequence of pickup, placement, and retrieval. Folding clothes adds another contact rich task, involving soft materials whose shape changes during handling. Together, these capabilities emphasize practical manipulation workflows rather than fast autonomous travel, consistent with its higher manipulation rating and lower navigation rating.
D01 is in early production or limited release, placing it at a stage where deployments can inform refinement of hardware, software, and task performance. Sharpa Robotics is based in Singapore and positions the system around human like hands and tactile intelligence for real work. The combination of full body contact sensing and a vision tactile language action model is significant for humanoid development because it connects physical feedback with perception and action selection. Rather than treating touch as limited to fingertips, D01 extends sensing across its body, which supports safer interactions when working near people and objects. Its developing overall score reflects a platform advancing toward broader operational use, while its strong manipulation rating highlights the importance of dexterity in commercially useful humanoid robotics.
