Welcome, Digit 5!

Digit 5 is Agility Robotics’ fifth generation humanoid robot for warehouse, factory, and logistics operations. Standing 180 cm tall and weighing 129 kg, it uses electric actuators and proprietary cycloidal drives to support repeated industrial work. The robot is designed to lift loads of up to 23 kg and travel at speeds up to 5.4 km/h, supporting material movement and production workflows alongside human teams. Its fast charging battery supports 1.5 hours per charge, while its intended operating schedule targets roughly 20 hours of work within a 24 hour period. Digit 5 has 30 overall degrees of freedom, including two finger gripping claws for handling workplace objects. Its Humanoid.Guide Skill Score is 4 out of 10, placing it in the developing stage, with navigation and manipulation each rated 2 out of 5. NVIDIA IGX Thor and NVIDIA Halos Core support edge computing and real time safety response, while Ethernet and WiFi provide facility connectivity.

Digit 5 supports walking stairs, which expands its usefulness beyond flat warehouse floors and enables movement through facilities with varied layouts. Sorting goods is a central use case, allowing the robot to move items through distribution, storage, and fulfillment processes. Its physical form and gripping claws support repeated handling tasks where materials need to be transferred between locations, containers, or workstations. The robot also supports assembling products, positioning it for structured manufacturing activities that require a mobile worker to interact with components during production. These capabilities align with industrial environments where labor availability, repetitive work, and operational consistency are major concerns. Combining stair walking, goods sorting, and product assembly gives Digit 5 relevance across logistics centers, factories, and distribution facilities.

Digit 5 is listed as a production ready prototype with early commercial units, representing Agility Robotics’ move from earlier deployments toward broader customer adoption. It follows Digit 4, which accumulated three years of real world use, and incorporates feedback from logistics and manufacturing customers. Agility Robotics has positioned the system for cooperative, cage free work around people, an important factor for facilities seeking automation without rebuilding every workspace around fixed machinery. CEO Peggy Johnson has stated that the company holds more than USD 300 million in multi year customer orders for Digit 5. The robot therefore represents a significant commercial effort to establish humanoid systems as practical industrial equipment, rather than solely as research demonstrations.
