Bleu Robotics raises €5 million for humanoid task training

Paris startup Bleu Robotics has raised €5 million in preseed funding to develop software for industrial humanoid robots, according to EU-Startups. The company targets a full deployment process of one hour or less and says its models can learn new tasks from as few as ten operator demonstrations. Contrarian Ventures and OVNI Capital co-led the round, with participation from Kvanted, WEPA Ventures, Motier Ventures and technology investor Charlie Songhurst. Founded in 2025, Bleu brings together two INRIA researchers and a former Renault manufacturing manager.

Bleu’s approach to humanoid task training uses what it calls abductive learning rather than an end to end model. Engineer Live reports that the software infers the likely intent behind an operator’s demonstration, including the task’s goal and constraints, then determines how to reproduce it. According to that outlet, operators use Bleu’s training devices and handheld grippers to demonstrate tasks at the workstation without coding. The company says its software can run on any humanoid platform and allow operators to retrain the same robot when production requirements change or it moves to another site.

The technical proposition is narrower than building a fully general purpose humanoid model: reduce the amount of task specific data needed to put a robot to work in manufacturing. Co-founder Benoît Berkoukchi argues that factory training data will remain scarce, telling EU-Startups: “There isn’t enough data on factory work, and there won’t be internet-scale data, the kind LLMs were built on, for robots for a long time.” The one hour deployment figure remains the company’s goal, rather than a reported result. Engineer Live reports that Bleu plans to use the funding to expand its team and scale its software across industries.
