Welcome, Handle L1!

CASBOT’s Handle L1 is a five finger robotic hand positioned as a lightweight, cost conscious option for humanoid robotics development. Its overall Hand Score is 6 out of 10, placing it in the capable or mature category rather than the highest performance tier. The evaluation assigns equal ratings to its two assessed dimensions: 3 out of 5 for Degrees of Freedom and 3 out of 5 for Strength. These are category ratings, not physical measurements or counts of joints. The hand weighs approximately 610 grams and measures 194 × 84 × 52 millimeters, giving its performance assessment a compact physical context. Its proportions follow those of a human hand, with a design intended to fit the form of anthropomorphic robotics systems. Developed by Beijing based CASBOT, also known as Beijing Zhongke Huiling Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., the product combines a recognizable human hand format with a balanced assessment across dexterity and strength.

The technical evaluation gives equal weight in its result to degrees of freedom and strength, with each category contributing three points to the total of six. For developers comparing robotic hands, these dimensions address different selection priorities: degrees of freedom concerns articulation, while strength concerns mechanical force performance. Handle L1 receives the same tier rating in both, so neither category stands above the other in this assessment. That balance is useful when organizing an initial comparison, but the ratings should remain distinct from engineering specifications. A score of three for Degrees of Freedom does not mean three joints, and a score of three for Strength is not a load measurement.

Handle L1 is listed as in production, with a displayed price of 2,100 US dollars and an inquiry option for prospective buyers. CASBOT introduced the hand in November 2024 alongside its first full size humanoid, placing the product within the company’s broader robotics development effort. The founding team comes from the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a separately listed robotic hand, Handle L1 also represents the component level side of the humanoid market, where developers evaluate individual subsystems rather than only complete robots. Its listed price, compact dimensions, and balanced category ratings provide concrete starting points for procurement discussions and comparisons with other robotic hands.
