Welcome, ATOM!

ATOM is a humanoid robot from Vbot, also known as Vita Dynamics, designed for homes, offices, retail settings and public service environments. Standing 160 cm tall and weighing 50 kg, it combines 31 body degrees of freedom with electric joint actuators and a fabric covered exterior. Its grey body, face screen and quiet feet reflect an emphasis on fitting into everyday indoor spaces. Listed specifications include a maximum speed of 4 km/h, a strength rating of 6 kg and two hours of operation per charge. Each hand has five fingers. Bluetooth and Wi Fi provide connectivity, while Vbot’s agentic operating system remains in development. The robot also incorporates LLM integration through the company’s Embodied Genome system and three core models. ATOM has an overall skill score of 2 out of 10, placing it in the early stage category. Its navigation and manipulation ratings are each 1 out of 5, indicating preliminary capability rather than mature general purpose performance.

Obstacle avoidance and sorting goods are ATOM’s established capabilities, connecting its mobility and manipulation functions to practical indoor tasks. Obstacle avoidance is relevant in homes, offices and retail spaces, where furniture, fixtures and other objects shape movement routes. Sorting goods provides a concrete manipulation use case for organizing items in those same environments. These functions give ATOM a focused starting point for evaluating physical assistance without implying broad autonomy. Its fabric covering and quiet feet support the design emphasis on shared living and working spaces, while safety is identified as a core design principle. The navigation and manipulation ratings remain at the lowest nonzero tier, so these capabilities should be understood as preliminary functions within a developing humanoid platform.

ATOM is listed as a prototype with a price of USD 25,000. Vbot unveiled the robot at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing and opened preorders at the event, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of 2026. The company was founded in Beijing in late 2024 by Yu Yinan, a former executive at autonomous driving chipmaker Horizon Robotics. Before entering humanoid robotics, Vbot introduced Datou, also called Big Head, a consumer robot dog that sold out quickly. ATOM represents the company’s expansion into a human shaped platform intended for everyday environments. Its broader significance lies in that transition, pairing a domestic design focus with an early stage combination of navigation and manipulation.
