Agility Robotics expands Pittsburgh hub for Digit deployments
Agility Robotics plans to open a 50,000 square foot Pittsburgh facility to support Digit deployments, consolidating software, AI, deployment and service teams under one roof. According to Dealroom.co, the company announced the expansion on October 21, 2026, alongside four new customers across automotive, consumer goods and agriculture. The site will include an East Coast service center to complement Agility’s Salem, Oregon, operations.
Agility says it has secured more than $300 million in orders spanning multiple years for Digit 5, subject to contractual milestones. That figure represents conditional orders rather than completed revenue. Dealroom.co reports that Digit already operates with GXO, Schaeffler and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, while Agility had also announced a pilot with agricultural equipment maker AGCO earlier that week. The pilot and order commitments are distinct from robots already operating at customer sites.
The Pittsburgh expansion addresses the maintenance, software updates and monitoring that deployed humanoids require after delivery. Its emphasis is support capacity rather than a new robot capability. “Scaling humanoid robotics means building the infrastructure to support robots throughout their entire working life,” chief executive officer Peggy Johnson said. The planned facility adds roughly 35,000 square feet to Agility’s existing Pittsburgh footprint, with staff expected to begin moving in by the end of 2026.
