Description

ZWHAND, the Shenzhen-based hand division of Zhaowei Machinery, positions the B20 as its flagship dexterous hand. It packs twenty active joints into the hand, each driven by its own independent brushless motor. Because every joint gets a dedicated motor rather than a shared mechanism, the B20 offers finer, more independent control than ZWHAND’s smaller models. The fingers can open or close in under 0.7 seconds, giving the hand quick, responsive movement. On top of that speed, ZWHAND built the motors themselves to be lighter and more efficient. Their rotational inertia drops to a fraction of a traditional motor’s, so the hand accelerates roughly twice as fast.

Sensing is where the B20 really stands apart. A flexible electronic skin covers both the fingertips and the palm, not just the fingers alone. This skin can sense force, shape, material, and even the surface it’s touching. So the hand doesn’t just grip objects, it also builds a real picture of what it’s holding. That kind of feedback matters for delicate tasks, like sorting fragile parts or handling unfamiliar objects safely. ZWHAND also rates the hand for over a million motion cycles and more than 10,000 hours of use, aiming it squarely at industrial-grade durability. At roughly 600 grams, it stays light despite carrying twenty separate drive motors. Overall, the B20 combines dense, independently-driven joints with full-hand tactile sensing, making it ZWHAND’s most capable model for demanding robotic manipulation work.
