Description

The Wave W01 is a human-scale, five-finger robotic hand from Sharpa, an AI robotics company based in Singapore. Sharpa built it to match the human hand in size, shape and movement. In fact, its palm and fingers follow natural human proportions, so it can use the same tools people do. Each finger bends and spreads much like ours, giving the hand wide, lifelike motion. As a result, it can grasp, pinch, turn and handle objects of many shapes and sizes.

Touch sets the W01 apart from most robotic hands. High-resolution sensors in the fingertips feel pressure, slip and changing forces in real time. Therefore, the hand can adjust its grip before a fragile item breaks or slips away. Sharpa also tests the hand hard for durability, with millions of press cycles and repeated impacts. Researchers use it to collect manipulation data and train AI, while companies fit it to robots for service, manufacturing and assembly work.
