Description

Roboto Origin is an open-source bipedal humanoid robot from RoboParty. It targets makers, researchers, students, and robotics developers. Rather than hiding its technology behind a closed system, RoboParty publishes the hardware, software, training workflows, and deployment tools. This makes the robot useful for learning how an embodied robot works from the inside.

The platform focuses on experimentation and hands-on development. Users can study motion control, reinforcement learning, simulation, and real-robot deployment with the same platform. Moreover, the design supports modification and secondary development. RoboParty also provides assembly and calibration resources, which makes Roboto Origin more approachable for teams that want to build or adapt their own robot.

Roboto Origin also demonstrates impressive dynamic movement for its size. The prototype stands about 1.25 meters tall and weighs around 34 kg. It can reach speeds of up to 3 m/s, while RoboParty has demonstrated both running and jumping. The robot uses a modular structure and open software stack, so developers can continue adding new behaviors and capabilities.

Most importantly, Roboto Origin acts as a learning and research platform rather than a finished commercial humanoid. Its ROS 2-based deployment stack connects hardware, control, simulation, and AI development. The project also provides URDF/MJCF models and training tools for simulation work. As a result, it gives developers a practical starting point for exploring embodied intelligence on real hardware.
