Xynova

Xynova Prima 1 is a 22-DoF, fully direct-drive dexterous hand built for industrial-grade manipulation. It combines a 1:1 biomimetic human hand design with five-finger visuo-tactile sensing, 15N fingertip force, and a 20kg lifting payload — engineered for precise, force-transparent control rather than flashy humanoid demos.

Description

Xynova Prima 1 pushes dexterous manipulation toward true industrial strength. It uses fully direct-drive actuation at every joint, so there’s no backlash or lost motion. As a result, force signals travel through the hand without distortion, giving controllers an honest read of what’s happening at the fingertips. The hand also mirrors a real human hand, following a 1:1 biomimetic design with 22 degrees of freedom. Because of this, it moves through natural, humanlike gestures and handles a wide range of grips. Even so, it doesn’t trade power for precision: it delivers 15N of fingertip force and lifts payloads up to 20 kilograms.

Prima 1 also brings a strong sense of touch to industrial work. Visuo-tactile sensors run across all five fingers, so the hand picks up fine detail instead of just raw force. Consequently, it can adjust its grip in real time based on what it feels, not just where it’s positioned. Force control lands within 0.5N of accuracy, and repeatability holds to 0.5mm, so results stay consistent across repeated tasks. Additionally, the hand opens and closes in just 0.08 seconds, making it remarkably fast for its size. Because of this speed and sensitivity together, Prima 1 suits manufacturing and assembly work that demands both quick reactions and a careful touch.
