Description

Knowin-X1 is a foldable, dual-arm home robot from Knowin (诺因智能), a Shenzhen startup founded in 2025. Its founder, Li Yinchuan, previously led generative model research at Huawei’s Noah’s Ark Lab. Knowin debuted the robot at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai in July 2026. Its standout feature is a tri-fold body that collapses to 40 cm or less. As a result, it tucks away easily in a normal home when not in use.

Once unfolded, X1 can lie low, kneel or stand to match the task. It rolls on a wheeled base and works with two seven-joint arms. Together, the arms lift up to 6 kg and coordinate on two-handed tasks. For example, Knowin shows it tidying tabletops, handling laundry and folding clothes. In addition, it can keep an eye on the home when needed.

X1 runs on Knowin’s own AI framework, GLOW (Generative Learning of World). At its core, a single model called KnowinGLOW handles seeing, reasoning, planning and moving all at once. It learns from real-world data and from simulated household scenes that Knowin generates at scale. Meanwhile, an agent layer tracks memory, task progress and feedback, so the robot can correct itself mid-task. Moreover, users can teach X1 a new skill by showing it just once, without retraining the model.

My mission, together with the team, is to help your organization understand the landscape, compare solutions, and move toward successful robot deployments.

Safety also shapes the design. X1 fuses cameras, depth sensing and LiDAR to understand its surroundings in real time. Meanwhile, layered obstacle avoidance helps it move safely around people and furniture. It can also stay on standby for up to ten hours. In short, Knowin-X1 aims to bring a practical, space-saving helper into everyday homes.
