Description

Hobbs W1 is a lifelike wheeled humanoid robot from Noetix Robotics, a Beijing company founded by Tsinghua and Zhejiang university researchers. Noetix calls it a “guide expert,” built to welcome and help people in public spaces. Above its wheeled base, it has a realistic human face, hair and arms. In fact, Noetix describes its appearance as “wax-figure level” realism. As a result, visitors feel like they are talking to a real person.

The robot’s face is its standout feature. Thirty-two motors move the face to show smiles, anger, sadness and agreement. Meanwhile, the lips move in sync with its speech. The skin uses platinum silicone that resists oil and aging, and the hair feels like real human hair. Moreover, businesses can customize the face and swap it quickly.

W1 also holds natural conversations. A large AI model helps it understand context and reason through questions. In addition, its speech recognition reaches about 98% accuracy, and its voice sounds smooth and natural. Its arms and dexterous hands add humanlike gestures, and users can fit silicone-covered hands for a lifelike look. Therefore, it combines expressive talk with warm, natural body language.

The robot moves safely through busy indoor spaces. LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors and depth cameras guide it with centimeter-level accuracy and help it avoid obstacles. Furthermore, it runs for about six hours under full load. Noetix also offers an Android SDK, demos and documentation for developers. In short, W1 suits exhibition halls, reception desks, government service centers, schools and hospitals.
