Description
GoMate Mini is a fourth-generation wheel-legged humanoid robot from GAC Group, one of China’s largest automakers. GAC’s incubated robotics startup, Huilun Technology, develops and deploys it. GoMate Mini made its public debut with a new tri-folding form at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing. Instead of feet, it moves on legs that end in wheels. As a result, it combines the speed of wheels with the ability to handle rough ground.
The robot’s signature feature is its variable wheel-leg design. It can stand upright on two wheels at 1.70 m, drop down onto four wheels for stability, or fold up completely. For example, in an auto plant it can patrol as a standing inspector and then fold into a cargo carrier for moving parts. This lets one robot handle both patrol and logistics jobs. In addition, it can get back up on its own after a fall, and it passed a live water-spray test at WRC.
GoMate Mini already works in the real world. Nearly 50 units operate in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Tianjin. They patrol campuses, guide visitors, assist subway security and work on car production lines. Together, they have traveled about 63,000 km and resolved around 189,000 anomalies, roughly the workload of 20 full-time staff. Moreover, the longest deployment has run continuously for 12 months.

The robot is also easy to operate and adapt. It navigates on its own, returns to charge automatically and runs for more than eight hours per charge. Meanwhile, operators can control it remotely with shared sight and sound, or use voice, gestures or a handheld controller on site. Users can fit two-, three- or five-finger hands depending on the task. In short, GoMate Mini shows how a carmaker is turning humanoid robots into practical, hardworking tools.
