Description
G0.5 is a robot foundation model from Galaxea, a Chinese company known for its R1 family of mobile robots. Most rival models attach a separate action module to a language model. Galaxea took a different path, so one network now writes both its reasoning and its motor commands in a single stream. The team argues this keeps the language model in charge of decisions. G0.5 learned from robot data across 14 different machines, plus web and visual question data. As a result, it beat leading open models such as π0.5 and GR00T on several public tests.
In use, the model can split a long request into smaller steps and point out the objects it needs. Then it acts on that plan and re-plans after each new camera view. It handles single arms, two-armed mobile robots and full humanoids through one shared action format. For example, it toasted bread and ran an air fryer without task-specific training. Researchers can download the checkpoints from Hugging Face after accepting a non-commercial license. Meanwhile, Galaxea offers commercial terms separately and ships the code in its GalaxeaVLA repository.
