Description

DYNA 2.1 is a semi-humanoid robot from DYNA Robotics, a startup from Redwood City, California. The company launched it on September 29, 2026, and calls it a “physical agent.” Unlike walking humanoids, DYNA 2.1 combines a human-like upper body with a wheeled base. It has two arms, a torso that can bend and four steerable wheels. As a result, it stays stable and cannot tip over while it works.

Dyna focuses on complete jobs rather than single tasks. For example, the robot can run a full commercial laundry shift on its own. It loads machines, folds towels and stacks them without human help. Similarly, it can clean hotel rooms, portion and serve food, and pack warehouse orders. The company says it can work around the clock and fix its own mistakes along the way.

The robot’s intelligence comes from DYNA-2, the company’s own AI model. Dyna trained this model on about one million hours of human and robot data. On top of that, a vision-language system plans each workflow step by step. Meanwhile, a whole-body controller coordinates driving, reaching, bending and lifting. Therefore, the robot can learn a new job in hours and start work in minutes.

DYNA Robotics targets businesses that need reliable help with repetitive work. The robot already works in hotels, laundromats and restaurants. Investors such as CRV and First Round Capital support the company. So far, Dyna has not shared a price or detailed hardware specs. Still, DYNA 2.1 shows a clear shift from robot demos toward robots that finish real work shifts.
