Description
Dex3-1 is a three-finger dexterous hand from Unitree Robotics, the Chinese maker of quadruped and humanoid robots based in Hangzhou. Unitree designed it mainly for its G1 humanoid robot. Instead of five fingers, it uses a thumb plus two fingers, which keeps it simple yet capable. Seven small motors move its joints, and most drive the joints directly. As a result, the hand responds quickly and controls its force precisely.

The Dex3-1 combines force and position control, so it can grip firmly or gently as each task requires. In addition, pressure sensors in the palm, finger pads and fingertips let it feel what it touches. This feedback helps the robot handle objects carefully and collect useful data for AI training. Moreover, Unitree shares open-source software that makes the hand easier to program. Therefore, it suits researchers and developers who want a responsive, touch-sensitive hand for humanoid robots.
