Description
CYBORG RO1 is a full-size bipedal humanoid robot from Cyborg Robotics (赛博格机器人), a company based in Guangdong, China. Scientists who returned to China after working at top research institutes abroad founded the company. Their goal is to let robots take on dangerous work so people stay safe. For this reason, Cyborg focuses on high-risk industries such as power, gas, oil, chemicals and heavy industry. The RO1 stands 180 cm tall and walks on two legs like a person.
The robot moves with strength and balance. For example, it steps over 15 cm obstacles, climbs slopes and walks up and down stairs. In addition, it stays steady when someone shoves it hard. If it does fall, it can get back up on its own. Powerful custom linear actuators give it the force to carry heavy loads with both arms.
The RO1 sees its surroundings through cameras, LiDAR and force sensors. A head camera scans the wider area, while a chest camera captures close-up details. Moreover, Cyborg’s own AI “brain” lets the robot talk with people and hold two-way video calls. An LED screen on its back and multiple speakers help it share warnings and information. Meanwhile, five layers of safety control protect people and equipment around it.

Cyborg designed the RO1 for long, demanding shifts. Its hot-swap battery system lets operators change batteries in about a minute without powering down. Furthermore, it uses dexterous five-finger hands to handle tools and parts. The company offers it in a lighter SE version and a longer-running PRO version. In short, the RO1 aims to take over risky, physically demanding work across industry.
