Description

Amazing Hand is a low-cost, open-source robotic hand from Pollen Robotics, the French company behind the Reachy humanoid robot, now part of Hugging Face. Pollen created it to make expressive humanoid hands affordable for everyone. Many dexterous hands cost thousands and hide their motors in the forearm. In contrast, the Amazing Hand fits all its motors inside the hand itself, with no cables running to the arm. As a result, it costs under €200 to build and weighs just 400 grams.

The hand uses four fingers, and each moves both up and down and side to side. Flexible shells cover most of its surface, which makes it softer and more expressive. In addition, anyone can 3D print the parts and follow a detailed assembly guide. Users can control it with simple Python scripts or an Arduino. Moreover, a growing community has added new bases, control tools and even an adapter for the SO-Arm. Therefore, it suits hobbyists, students and researchers exploring humanoid hands on a budget.
