Description
LinkerBot also makes the Linker Hand O30, a step up from its linkage-driven L-series hands. This model uses twenty fully active joints, with no passive ones at all. So every finger joint gets its own direct drive, instead of relying on a shared linkage. Brushless motors paired with worm gears power each joint. Because of this direct-drive design, the hand can apply force more precisely at each finger. It can also hold heavier loads: the O30 supports up to 30 kg of static payload, the highest in LinkerBot’s current hand lineup. Its grip is strong too, with all five fingers together producing up to 70N of force. Each of the four fingers can push with up to 30N on its own, while the thumb adds another 24N.

The hand moves fast as well, opening or closing in under a second. A CAN or CAN FD interface connects it to a robot’s controller, running at a 500Hz update rate for quick, responsive control. This fast communication link, combined with a repeatability of just 0.2mm, lets the hand work with real precision. At 730 grams, the O30 stays fairly light despite its added joints and strength. It also runs on a flexible 24 to 48V power supply, drawing modest current even under load. Overall, the Linker Hand O30 combines true full-DOF control with high payload and grip strength, aimed at demanding manipulation tasks where both precision and power matter.
