Description

LinkerBot, the Chinese robotics company behind the Linker Hand L6, also builds the larger Linker Hand L20. This version packs sixteen active joints into a single hand, plus five passive ones. That gives it more independent motion than most dexterous hands on the market. A rigid linkage system drives each finger. Brushless motors and precision ball screws power that system, instead of tendons or cables. Because of this stiffer drivetrain, the hand delivers a strong, consistent grip, even during repetitive tasks. Its five fingers together can close with up to 100N of force. That is roughly double what the smaller L6 model produces. The hand still supports a sizable 20 kg of static payload. So it handles both forceful grasps and lighter precision work with ease.

The fingers and thumb also move quickly. The four fingers bend at over 3 radians per second, and the thumb rotates nearly as fast. This speed, combined with a repeatability of just 0.2mm, lets the hand place and release objects with real precision. A CAN or RS485 interface connects it to a robot’s main controller. It runs on a wide 24 to 48V power range. At roughly 1.2 kg, the L20 is noticeably heavier than LinkerBot’s smaller hands. That extra weight reflects its added joints and stronger drive components. Overall, the Linker Hand L20 trades some compactness for extra strength. It offers more fingers of freedom and a grip built for demanding, repetitive manipulation tasks.
