1X NEO home humanoid launches globally at $20,000, TIME says

1X Technologies’ $20,000 NEO humanoid has launched globally in 2026, according to TIME, which describes it as the first humanoid robot widely available for home use. The 1X NEO home humanoid is designed to handle household chores, with founder and CEO Bernt Børnich claiming a range of autonomous capabilities.

NEO weighs 66 pounds, but TIME reports that it can lift more than 150 pounds and carry 55 pounds. Those are separate lifting and carrying figures for a robot intended to fetch objects and move groceries around the home.

Børnich says NEO can autonomously retrieve things from other rooms, tidy countertops, fold laundry, unload a dishwasher and carry groceries. He describes its hands as dexterous and capable, and says the robot will learn additional tasks as it goes.
