Description
4NE1 Gen 4 is the fourth generation of the full-size humanoid robot from NEURA Robotics, based in Metzingen, Germany. People pronounce its name “for anyone,” which reflects NEURA’s goal of a robot that can work alongside anyone. NEURA develops, builds and trains it entirely in Germany. The company calls it “a new body and a new brain.” In fact, NEURA says Gen 4 already runs in real deployments, and the company is now preparing it for series production.
Gen 4 brings a fresh, friendlier design. Its slimmer body is about 20% lighter than the previous generation. Instead of hard panels, a textile skin covers the robot, which makes it look softer and more approachable. Meanwhile, improved hands give it a more precise grip. Each limb also has built-in reflexes, so it reacts on its own when conditions suddenly change.
The biggest upgrade sits inside its head. Gen 4 runs NEURON AI, NEURA’s own physical AI foundation model, launched in October 2026. It doesn’t just see in 3D; it also feels touch and force, hears sounds and remembers what it has already done. For example, it can confirm a lock has opened by its click, or grip an object it cannot see. Moreover, all of this runs locally on the robot, with no cloud connection needed. Through NEURA’s Neuraverse platform, it can also share the skills it learns with other connected robots.

NEURA targets both industry and the home. In factories and warehouses, 4NE1 handles logistics, machine tending and other manual tasks. At home, it can carry objects and respond to voice commands. NEURA also offers wheeled versions and models with an extra axis for longer reach. With backing from investors such as Nvidia, Amazon and Tether, and a deal with Schaeffler, NEURA aims to make 4NE1 one of Europe’s leading humanoids.
