Description
Neo1 is a giant industrial humanoid robot from Neodra Dynamics (清卓动力), a Beijing startup founded in 2024. Its three co-founders have Tsinghua University backgrounds, including AI expert Jianwei Zhang and digital hydraulics inventor Tao Yang. Neo1 debuted at the 2026 World Robot Conference and appeared again at CIIF in October 2026. It stands about 4 meters tall and weighs around 1,200 kg. As a result, it looks more like a science-fiction mecha than a typical humanoid.
The robot’s secret lies in its hybrid drive system. Most humanoids rely only on electric motors, but Neo1 combines them with compact digital hydraulic cylinders. These small units weigh only about 1–1.6 kg each, yet they push enormous loads with very fine control. For example, its two arms together lift around 500 kg. At the same time, its fingertips reach precision measured in hundredths of a millimeter.
Neodra Dynamics builds Neo1 for “4D” work: dangerous, dirty, dull and difficult. Its hands and arms keep working in extreme conditions, including nuclear radiation and temperatures from -50 to 250 °C. Moreover, the company designs its components to survive deep-sea pressure. Target uses include nuclear maintenance, mining, demolition, construction, ports and emergency rescue. In short, it aims to do jobs that are too heavy or too risky for people.

My mission, together with the team, is to help your organization understand the landscape, compare solutions, and move toward successful robot deployments.
Neo1 also connects to modern robot intelligence. The company pairs it with machine vision and vision-language-action models. Meanwhile, Neodra Dynamics is working with JD Industrial to test it in heavy-duty factory jobs. Beyond the full robot, it sells its powerful dexterous hand, heavy-duty arm and hydraulic cylinders as separate components. Therefore, Neo1 also serves as a showcase for technology other robot makers can adopt.
