Description
HoloMotion-1 is a whole-body motion model for humanoid robots from Horizon Robotics. The company released its technical report in May 2026, alongside a major upgrade of the open HoloMotion project. The model lets a humanoid copy almost any human motion without extra training for each move. Most of its skill comes from motions that the team pulled out of ordinary online videos. Then motion capture data adds precision. As a result, it covers far more kinds of movement than models trained on studio data alone.
On a Unitree G1, the model can dance, perform kung fu moves and follow a human operator in real time. It also handles walking commands, since the project ships velocity tracking models too. Its mixture-of-experts design keeps it fast enough for closed-loop control on the robot. Moreover, Horizon reports about 40% lower tracking error than the strongest rival on five unseen datasets. Developers can get the code on GitHub under Apache 2.0, and the trained models sit on Hugging Face. For Horizon, HoloMotion acts as the body layer that pairs with its HoloBrain manipulation models.
