Description
REX G1 is a wheeled humanoid robot from RoboScience, a Chinese embodied AI company founded in December 2024. Its founder, Tian Ye, studied at Stanford’s AI Lab under Andrew Ng and later led AI platform technology at Apple. RoboScience launched REX G1 on August 17, 2026, as its first robot. The company calls it a “new-generation embodied productivity partner.” In fact, it builds the robot around its own AI brain rather than adding AI to existing hardware.
REX G1 pairs a humanlike upper body with a compact omnidirectional base. For example, it can drive forward, sideways and spin in place, so it fits through aisles just 75 cm wide. Its torso lifts and its base adjusts in length, letting it work anywhere from 10 cm to 2 m high. In addition, it can move, lift and grasp at the same time. As a result, it adapts to existing shelves and workspaces without changes to the site.
The robot runs on RoboScience’s Visics model, which takes its name from “vision” and “physics.” This model first predicts how objects will move in 3D, then turns that plan into precise arm motions. Moreover, it learns from large amounts of simulation and video data, so it generalizes across objects, tasks and even different robot bodies. At WRC 2026, RoboScience showed a dexterous hand swapped in 30 seconds that kept working without retraining. A powerful onboard computer also lets REX G1 work even where network connections are weak.

RoboScience targets logistics, factories, retail and homes. Strong vision with 360° coverage and adaptive lighting helps REX G1 handle shadows, reflections and dark spaces. Meanwhile, its arms carry up to 10 kg together and place objects with high precision. A hot-swappable battery supports continuous work. In short, REX G1 aims to take on complete tasks, not just single steps, in real workplaces.
