Description
Y-Hand M2 is a bionic dexterous robot hand from Yuequan Bionics, a robotics company based in Beijing, China. It debuted at AI Show 2026 as the flagship of the company’s Y-Hand series. Unlike most robot hands, it does not rely on rigid hinges and linkages. Instead, it copies how bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments work together in a real hand. As a result, it moves with a natural softness that rigid hands struggle to match. Yuequan Bionics calls it the world’s highest-DoF bionic dexterous hand, with 38 degrees of freedom.

The hand aims to solve a long-standing trade-off in robotics. Strong hands are usually stiff, while gentle hands are usually weak. Y-Hand M2, however, delivers strength, speed, precision, flexibility and softness together. For example, it can grip firmly enough to lift heavy loads, yet it can also form delicate hand-shadow shapes like a rabbit or a swan. In addition, the company’s own artificial muscles combine the motor, gearing and transmission in one compact unit. Therefore, the hand suits industrial assembly, inspection, healthcare and home tasks, and it can perform about 33 types of human dexterous manipulation.
