Description
LUMO (鹿萌, Lumeng) is a compact humanoid robot from DOBOT, a Shenzhen-based robotics company best known for its collaborative robot arms. DOBOT unveiled it on August 5, 2026, calling it the world’s first “all-habitat” embodied humanoid. LUMO stands about 1.3 meters tall, roughly the height of a child. DOBOT gave it a friendly, non-threatening look on purpose. As a result, it suits homes, offices and schools rather than factory floors.
The robot walks in a natural, humanlike way. In launch footage, it moves smoothly across grass, sand and cobblestones. It also switches easily between home, office and outdoor settings. In addition, DOBOT says it offers one of the most humanlike long-distance walking gaits in China. Therefore, LUMO can follow people through everyday spaces instead of staying in one room.
LUMO runs on DOBOT’s own “Kongyi” embodied AI model, which ranks first on the LIBERO robotics benchmark. For example, it reads people’s emotions by combining what it sees and hears. Meanwhile, LiDAR and visual mapping help it understand 3D spaces, plan routes and avoid obstacles. It also learns from real-world use, so its skills improve over time. Moreover, it can take action on its own rather than only answering commands.

DOBOT designed LUMO to play many roles. It can act as a daily buddy, a sports playmate or a science-learning partner for children. DOBOT targets busy professionals, young families and school-age kids alike. Beyond the home, it also serves as an open platform for education, research and commercial use. In short, LUMO brings DOBOT’s robotics experience into the growing market for companion humanoids.
