Description
Lumen S1 is a compact, fully intelligent humanoid robot from Guanggu Dongzhi (HECbot), a robotics company based in Wuhan, China. HEC Group founded the company in 2025 together with AgiBot, the Peking University Wuhan AI Institute and PsiBot. S1 belongs to the company’s “Photon” (Lumen) robot family. It stands 130 cm tall, about the height of a child. As a result, it feels approachable and fits easily into homes, classrooms and showrooms.
S1 combines three kinds of intelligence in one body: motion, interaction and work. For example, it moves with many flexible joints and shows emotions through a face screen. It also reacts to touch on its head and to changes around it. In fact, a built-in “drama mode” lets it respond to its surroundings with speech, gestures and expressions. Therefore, it acts less like a tool and more like an intelligent companion.

The robot also recognizes and talks with people. It tells familiar faces from strangers and greets each one with custom messages. In addition, it speaks both Chinese and English and supports chat, skill commands and custom wake words. LiDAR, depth and stereo cameras help it map spaces and judge distances accurately. Meanwhile, an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computer runs its AI directly on the robot.
