Description
TRON 2 is a multi-form embodied robot from LimX Dynamics, a robotics company based in Shenzhen, China. LimX launched it in December 2025 as the follow-up to its popular TRON 1 biped. Unlike most robots, TRON 2 can change its body to suit the task. Users can switch between two arms, two legs with feet or two legs with wheels. As a result, one robot can replace several specialist machines in a lab.
Each form brings its own strengths. For example, the dual-arm setup handles tabletop work with humanlike seven-joint arms. Meanwhile, the bipedal setup climbs stairs step by step using camera input. The wheeled-leg setup, in contrast, rolls quickly across rough ground while carrying heavy loads. Teams can also combine these parts into humanoid or four-legged forms.
LimX built TRON 2 mainly for AI research and data collection. In particular, it supports vision-language-action models, which let robots learn tasks from video and instructions. Operators can control the arms through a VR headset to record real-world training data. Moreover, LimX provides a full data pipeline, from collection and labeling to training and testing. Over 10 tutorials and thousands of open datasets help teams get started quickly.

I’m Olivia, Humanoid Analyst at Humanoid.Guide
My mission, together with the team, is to help your organization understand the landscape, compare solutions, and move toward successful robot deployments.
The robot also stays safe and easy to develop. Safety boundaries stop the arms before they hit people or objects, and the arms lock in place during power loss. In addition, it can stand back up after a fall on its own. Developers get a fully open SDK with Python, C++ and ROS support, plus popular simulators. In short, TRON 2 offers an affordable, flexible platform for embodied AI research and real-world testing.
