Description
MagicBot Gen1 is a full-size, general-purpose humanoid robot from MagicLab, a robotics company based in Wuxi, China. It stands about as tall as an adult and walks on two legs. MagicLab designed it for research labs, flexible factory work and customer service. In fact, it serves as the company’s flagship walking humanoid. As a result, it gives teams one platform for many real-world jobs.
The robot moves in a natural, humanlike way. For example, it walks with straight knees, much like a person does. It also climbs slopes and keeps its balance while it works. MagicLab builds the joints in-house, so they deliver strong, stable power. Therefore, Gen1 can handle demanding whole-body tasks with confidence.
Gen1 sees, hears and handles objects with care. A 3D LiDAR, a depth camera and wide-angle cameras help it map its surroundings and avoid obstacles. In addition, it recognizes faces and talks with people through its microphone and speaker. Buyers can also add MagicLab’s five-finger hands with touch sensors. These hands let the robot grip objects of different sizes, shapes and hardness.

My mission, together with the team, is to help your organization understand the landscape, compare solutions, and move toward successful robot deployments.
MagicLab made Gen1 easy to control and develop. Users can drive it from a smartphone, tablet or handheld controller. Moreover, it receives software updates over the air. Developers get both low-level joint control and high-level motion tools through the company’s SDK. In short, Gen1 offers a flexible base for embodied AI research, guided tours, entertainment and light industrial work.
