Description

Pantheon Hand 20 is a tendon-driven, five-finger dexterous hand from Stella Robot (星际光年), a robotics startup in Shenzhen, China. It represents the company’s high-end line and its core technology. Stella uses a “drive-hand separation” design that moves the heavy motors out of the hand and into the forearm or body. As a result, the hand itself weighs under 300 g, lighter than many human hands. Yet it still grips with great force and handles heavy loads.

Tendons work much like human muscles and ligaments, which makes the hand smooth, flexible and safe around people. In addition, they absorb sudden bumps, so the fingers resist damage from impacts. Tendon hands often suffer from cables stretching or changing with temperature over time. However, Stella solves this with an automatic, real-time tensioning system that keeps every cable tight. Therefore, the Pantheon Hand suits precise industrial work, high-risk jobs and, eventually, robots in the home.
