Description
Walker II is a full-size biped humanoid robot from DroidUp, a robotics company based in Shanghai, China. DroidUp calls it the world’s first modular humanoid driven by bionic tendons. Instead of relying only on stiff motors, it combines tendons with small motors spread across its body. As a result, its joints can change their stiffness much like human muscles. This design gives it a natural, human-like walking style.
The robot stands 170 cm tall but weighs only about 32 kg. Because of this light build, it uses far less energy than many rival humanoids. In fact, it can walk for up to six hours on one charge. Walker II proved its stamina at the 2025 Beijing humanoid half marathon. There, it finished third and never needed a battery swap during the race.
Walker II handles more than smooth floors. For example, it walks on gravel, climbs slopes and steps over small obstacles and stairs. In addition, it uses several camera sets and a microphone array to see and hear its surroundings. It can navigate crowds on its own and chat with visitors through voice. Meanwhile, its control system blends predictive control with reinforcement learning.

DroidUp targets education, guided tours, security patrols and stage performances. Schools and universities already use it in labs and robotics courses. Moreover, museums and showrooms in Shanghai use it as a tour guide. The company sells it online in a standard and a Pro version. In short, Walker II offers a light, efficient and affordable humanoid for real-world use.
