Muscle V0 takes a completely different approach to robotic hands. Instead of a few strong motors, Daxo Robotics packed in 120 individual tendon-driven actuators, making it what the company calls the world’s most actuated hand. Because of this redundancy, the hand doesn’t rely on any single motor to complete a motion. As a result, it keeps working smoothly even if some actuators fail along the way. The hand also has no rigid joints, so it flexes and conforms to whatever it touches. Therefore, it grips oddly shaped or delicate objects more naturally than a typical mechanical hand.

Daxo builds sensing directly into how Muscle V0 moves, not as an afterthought. Every actuator can sense and yield to outside force, so the hand feels contact directly through its tendons. Consequently, it reacts to touch in real time instead of guessing at contact points. Because it’s sensor-ready out of the box, developers can add cameras or other sensors without redesigning the hand. Daxo has already tested the hand through more than 100,000 actuation cycles, with more durability testing underway. The company is preparing a limited release for Fall 2026, aimed at robotics researchers and developers who need serious dexterity.
