Description

PrimeBOT introduced the Q1 at CES 2026 as a small, personal humanoid robot. Swancor, the Chinese composites company behind the PrimeBOT brand, built it as a companion rather than a tool. Unlike most humanoids chasing warehouse or factory work, Q1 targets homes, classrooms, and research desks instead. The company calls it the world’s smallest full-body force-controlled humanoid robot. That claim centers on its joints, not just its size.

Q1’s
real pitch isn’t raw power; it’s openness. PrimeBOT ships the robot with a fully open SDK and HDK. That way, developers can build on top of it instead of working around it. Meanwhile, owners can swap 3D-printed outer shells to change how Q1 looks entirely. They can also shape its personality, since PrimeBOT lets people define its worldview and character from scratch. In other words, no two Q1 robots need to look or act the same.

Un
derneath the customization, Q1 relies on small, high-torque QDD joints for its motion. This actuator style lets compact robots produce forceful, responsive movement without bulky gearboxes. As a result, Q1 can reportedly pull off a surprisingly wide range of dynamic moves for something backpack-sized. However, PrimeBOT hasn’t published a detailed spec sheet yet. Exact height, weight, and joint count remain unconfirmed, so treat any numbers here as informed estimates rather than facts.

PrimeBOT positions
Q1 across three groups: researchers, educators, and families. For researchers, it works as an affordable, low-risk testbed for embodied AI experiments. For families, it behaves more like an evolving companion than a fixed appliance. Because pricing and full specs remain unannounced outside China, international buyers should expect more official detail soon. Until then, Q1 stands out more for its philosophy than its numbers.
