Description

RobotEra built the XHAND1 Lite as a slim, agile robotic hand nicknamed the “Elf Hand.” It moves fast, opening and closing more than ten times per second. Because of this speed, the hand keeps pace with quick, repeated tasks like handing off objects or gesturing during conversation. Its five fingers work through eleven combined joints, blending active motors with flexible, passive movement. As a result, the hand bends and curls in ways that feel closer to a real human hand than many rigid designs. The thumb can also reach every other finger, which supports a wide range of grips. This gives the hand real versatility, from a light pinch to a firmer, wraparound hold.

Despite its light 730-gram weight, the XHAND1 Lite still performs demanding, repeated motion reliably. RobotEra rates it for one million grasp cycles, so it holds up well under constant daily use. Meanwhile, its joints stay backdrivable, meaning they can flex slightly under outside pressure instead of locking rigidly. Therefore, the hand handles small bumps and unexpected contact more safely than a stiffer mechanism would. Its compact size, close to that of an adult hand, also helps it fit naturally onto smaller humanoid platforms. For instance, RobotEra pairs the XHAND1 Lite with its Q5 service robot for tasks that call for both precision and a lifelike appearance. Altogether, it balances speed, durability, and a natural look in a lightweight package.
