Description
AEON compresses Hexagon’s decades of precision-measurement know-how into a 165 cm humanoid that can weave through tight factory aisles at nearly 9 km h while remaining stable under 15 kg payloads. Its 34 actuated joints yield fluid upper-body gestures and full-body balance, letting the robot handle inspection scanners one moment and pallet boxes the next.
Inside the torso, a NVIDIA Jetson Orin runs motion planning, spatial AI and edge LLM reasoning completely on-board; an upcoming IGX Thor module adds certified functional safety so AEON can work shoulder-to-shoulder with people without protective cages. Multimodal sensors fuse RGB, depth, LiDAR and force data to build centimetre-accurate digital twins that upload directly to Hexagon’s Reality Cloud Studio via Wi-Fi 6 or gig-ethernet.
A hot-swappable lithium pack keeps each shift to four hours, but the clever slide-out design means one battery can charge while another powers the robot—achieving round-the-clock autonomy with no downtime-penalty. Combined with rugged aluminium-and-composite construction, AEON targets the harsh corners of automotive, aerospace and heavy-equipment plants where repetitive inspection and material moves erode human productivity.
Because AEON’s software stack is built on NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Omniverse, workflows trained in photorealistic simulation port straight to the factory floor. Hexagon is already piloting units at Schaeffler and Pilatus, showing 40 % faster QC scans and 99.9 % accuracy—proof that general-purpose humanoids are ready to close labour gaps and elevate industrial safety today.
AEON is a 165 cm, 60 kg Swedish-engineered humanoid that zips along at 8.6 km h, lifts 15 kg, runs an on-device Jetson Orin/Isaac stack for real-time spatial AI and offers 24/7 service via hot-swap batteries—positioning it as Hexagon’s answer to labour shortages in manufacturing, inspection and logistics.
